Pritchard Indigenous Artists Fund

Australian Theatre Company is thrilled to announce the Pritchard Indigenous Artists Fund thanks to a generous commitment from Bob and Margie Pritchard. This fund has been created to provide opportunities to further develop Australian Indigenous Theatre Makers (Actor, Writer, Director, Designer, Producer, Musician or Dancer) by offering them an opportunity to participate in a program with ATC in Los Angeles over the next 4 years.

The first of our professional development opportunities offered was a place in our workshop with Academy Award, Tony and Pulitzer Prize winning writer and director, John Patrick Shanley. This workshop was presented in partnership with 16th Street Actors Studio Australia and took place in Los Angeles in March 2018.

Hunter Page-Lochard was the first recipient of the Pritchard Indigenous Artists Fund. Hunter participated in our John Patrick Shanley workshop.

“Margie and I are enthusiastic supporters of ATC, the incredible work they are doing and most importantly, the commitment and passion of the founders. It is extremely gratifying to be able to be part of this crucible of Australian theatre in the United States. We have long been committed to indigenous incentives, from sport, to art and social programs. Also, Margie’s son Mark, works closely with remote indigenous communities the Babbarra Women’s Centre in northern Arnhem Land, as well as the Merrepen Arts, Culture and Language Centre, Hopevale Arts and Cultural Centre and Yawuru Jarndu communities. We are thrilled to be able to extend this commitment through the Pritchard Indigenous Artists Fund.” – Bob Pritchard
